500 miles…
Now it will be every 3,000 (oil and oil filter change). The reason I did mine at 500 miles is because my truck build date was 6/25/03 and I bought it on 2/2/04 so that is 8 months sitting around with the same 1/8th tank of gas. Figured it was better to be safe then sorry…

Yo Rob,
Did those plugs break in the truck? If so how did you get the metal out of the cyclinder?

AT THE TRACK, lined up with a Z06
whooped him off the line, but then all hell broke loose, it bogged down and with in mili-seconds started detonated and melting plugs, I shut the engine off prob a few hundred feet into the run and just rolled the track.
I was complaining months before it happen about the truck dieing down on the top end at the end of my runs. We never thought of the filter because at the time the trouble started the truck only had less than 4k on it. Plus it would run great on the street and only have this cutting off and on feeling at the end of a 1/4 mile run. We thought it was too little gas in the tank, so I tried more (was still cutting off and on) tried a few other things, but still had the prob, then wam a month or two later they melted. At the time my truck would only run 13.1 -13.3's with 6lbs of pulley filter and chip.
It was USA Hooters + James Parker (RWTD) that figured it out.
I went home, pulled the plugs, and posted some pictures,
when Bubba saw them, he called me, we conferenced USA Hooters in, and had a three way phone conversation for hours. It was them who came to the conclusion IT HAD TO BE the filter. So I went and got one, changed it, cut it in half and saw that.
Did NOTHING to try and retrieve any missing plug fall out.
But I was convinced I F-ed up something. Truck was only @ 4-5 months old at the time. So I said I might as well find out,
I switched to Denso IT-22's to make my tune safer (colder plug), then took the upper 2lb pulley off to make it even more safer (less boost), then went back to the track the next weekend and ran my first 12 ever (12.8 on F-1's) with a simple filter chip n 4lb pulley. NO OTHER MODS AT ALL AT THE TIME. It was also then I decided I wanted even more safety and had the tune richened up even more.
Went Mod crazy after that and here I am almost 2 years later shooting for a Mid 11 next time out
Since I burnt 2 pistons in my motor and blew several head gaskets which was due partly to an inadaquate and restrictive fuel delivery system. I realized that the stock filter was just too restrictive along with the puny 1/4 inch crimped fuel line. Especially for good top end charges in the quarter mile. I since revamped my whole fuel system which incorporates a fuel filter that filters out 20 times what a stock filter does while snapping into the stock filters holster on the frame rail and all braided #8 (1/2 inch) hose throughout. The filter is a 14 inch long, all stainless steel mesh element that is cleaned by blasting it with carb cleaner from the inside out. With 20 times the filtering capacity and "0" pressure drop , I figure Ill clean it 2 years from now. Heres some pics.

So what did you do change the lines all the way from the tank to the filter and then from the filter to the fuel rail ???
NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE

ABSOLUTELY, ROB.
ALL #8 LINE FOR THE FEED AND #6 FOR RETURN WITH HIGH FLOW RAIL FITTINGS AND FILTER. I HAVE DONE 7 LIGHTNINGS AND 1 HD LIKE THIS. ALL GAINING AN AVERAGE OF 30 HP BY JUST INCREASING THE LINE SIZE. MY SETUP IS VERY SIMILAR BUT IM RUNNING 7/8" RAILS AND REGULATOR WITH 2 MONDO PUMPS OUT BACK......

Yea, Its true.My L used to pull away from "mac-attack's" Lightning. He still has his factory exhaust manifolds, 6 lber, delta chip, ported upper and accufab with the stock converters.Mine is a mid 12 sec. L with long tubes,6 and 2 lb , etc...Now after Pro-mod's fuel system he pulls harder up on top.If he gets me at of the hole, no way I can catch him. This story is repeated with the other L's that have this systemThe fuel reserve and volume is now greater.A/F ratios change very little. Go figure!Another L owned by "cap-e-tan" is set up exactly like mine with long tubes. After his fuel system install ...all I can say is WOW.He picked up gobs of power from down low to mid-range big time! Up on top still feels a bit stronger. It seems this system enchances the power band that you already have.I don't know about 30 H.P., but I'll tell you it can't be that far off.You WILL feel the difference! Plus I like the idea of zero filter replacement and the peace of mind of knowing there is more than enough fuel going to my engine. Its a great mod.
