i had the same question as chicken ears. (sorry read the other thread where you explained how you came up with the name)

Welding should prevent any slippage!

How about changing the bottom bracket to a square with 4 holes for the U bolts to go through it.
Shouldn't be difficult to fab up.

Just a thought

If those brackets arent welded to good they will break off. You should have put 2 on the back, an L shaped one in the front with a bolt going up also. They look kind of fragile but Im sure they will work.

I plain on making beefier brackets soon. I just wanted to get them on so i could see what i needed to make changes too to make it stronger. I have a good idea on how to make the front brackets stronger, im gonna make the bracket T so that it makes a 90 on the frame and it has 2 angles to get strength from so it doesnt twist or bend. Im gonna have to study the rear for a while unless you can explain your idea better and ill try making them to put on my truck.

Ive had this idea for a while now, I hope you understand me. Get a pipe about 6 inches long big enough so the axle would go in it. Cut it in half or maybe less but cut it the long ways. Weld a piece of flat bar along the side, on both sides. Make holes so that 2 u-bolts could go through them. Weld 2 pieces of flat bar going down to mount the bars. The pipe should hug the axle and tighting up with the u-bolts, you understand what I mean?
