Question Lo-Tek Help!!

I got the Lo-Tek pod in today, and it doesn't fit...I knew it wouldnt though.

Could someone with the pod installed already tell me where i need to trim it at? It looks pretty obvious, but I'd like to make sure so I don't have to wait for another to come if I screw this one up...

edit...sorry, forgot the pics!!

been there, done that

Ford changed the column pods mid year in 02 if memory serves me correct.

The ONLY way to 'fix' it other than procuring the correct pod or foregoing the mod altogether is to lay the stocker inside the lo-tec fitment, trace the upper contour onto the inside of the lo-tec with a sharpie leaving PLENTY of fudge factor space (about 1/2" where applicable, and cut that **** ever so steady with a Dremel.

As Bob mentioned, the mid-year pillar change is what you are dealing with. The AutoMeter is even worse.

I trimmed mine with a utility knife, just taking a little at a time. The cut edge can be sanded before painting. Take your time and it will look OEM. It took me only about 1/2 hour to make it fit once I got brave and started cutting.

Well I guess it's time to grow some ***** and start cutting then.

Is this the only place that needs trimming? or do you have to trim the bottom too?

I was thinking about getting the steering column pod and saw that they had the full a-piller pod for lightnings. it looks like you could get one with out having to modify it. I am in no way affiliated with rpmoutlet however i have found that they have better prices than a lot of the other companies. I am just looking out for all of us (L owners) in getting the best prices and best quality products.

if not, good luck modifing that one.

nope

no need to trim the bottom of the pillar. In fact, DON'T.

Just trim the top.
