I have a 2000 L and have just installed a 4# motoblue crank pulley, along with a Predator flash tuner. Also, before installing the pulley, i upgraded to the NGK Iridium spark plugs to prevent detonation. As soon as I installed the pulley i changed the Diablo tune from DiabloSport Performance to DiabloSport Pulley. Despite all of that i still have detonation at 3,000+ RPM! Does anyone have an idea of anything that i could've done wrong that would cause this? Please help... a guy that i work with has a stock WS6 T/A that he is sure will woop me at the track in a couple weeks! Thanks in advance... -TheYak

 

You need to get a custom tune, the stock Dablo tunes are not good from what I hear. Where did you but the Predator???

 

Stock pred tune SUCK A$$. I'm not allowed to repeat what i know so basically get a custom tune.

I bought my Predator from JLP Performance... from what i've read he seems to know his sh*t. Is there anything that i can do on my own with the Predator for now? ex. advance/retard timing or adjust fuel table (Kinda low on $$$ right now) Let me know... i really appreciate all of your inputs!

Yeah, i thought i was supposed to get a custom tune... that's why they asked me about my current mods. But all my tuner shows for tune options is DiabloSport Performance, DiabloSport Pulley, DiabloSport Pulley/90mm Tune, DiabloSport Pulley/ 91oct, Factory HP tune, and the original backup. I guess i'll call JLP in the morning... i hate to bother Sal because i didn't purchase from him.

I think that you're right about the plain-jane Predator. So you're saying that there should be a custom tune from the dealer on the menu? I thought the "big 3" all gave the first tune free with the initial purchase. Either way, is it difficult to get a tune from JLP or PowerSurge by way of computer or would i have to send it in? welp technically jlp includes a tune preset on the predator. this is against hoe diablo wants it done and they are fixing it. What you are supposed to do is take the stock program it copied off of your pcm and e-mail it to a chipmaster revolution dealer and then they can make you a program. Everything is done through e-mail. Sal would give you a kickass program and he's real easy to get ahold of and just an all around great guy.

Maybe i should give Sal a call then... EVERYONE says that he's a hell of a guy. Kinda makes me wish that i would've bought through him in the first place! Do you have a number that i could get ahold of him at? Also, do you have any idea what he would charge to e-mail me a tune? Sorry about all of these Q's, but you seem to know your stuff!

 

If you had a custom tune on it that would be the only tune that shows. Since you see all of the default tunes there is no custom tune on it.

Call JLP and have them send you a custom tune.

 

yak, don't be discouraged we'll get you a custom tune. shoot me an e-mail with your invoice # and full name..We @ JLP tried our best to be able to send you guys our custom tunes from the get go, but PSP,RWTD called diablo complaining about this So they made it so you guys can't get my custom tunes unless you get the pred. 1st. and download it. I tried my best to do this because its alot easier for the customer to get it with our tune on it right from the get go..Its no different than getting my chips with my custom tune on it from the get go..But thanx to these other New Diablo dealers We can't do custom tunes right away. but we can e-mail them to you...Bottom line i believe you the *customer* suffer because of a few others out there who can't keep thier nose where it belongs!....JL

 

Johnny that really sucks, I know it is not your fault as I know you allways try to do your best for all your customers. Diablo should really rethink their postition on this policy. I just wonder if PSP, and RWTD are shipping out the Preditors with custom tunes on them. If so that would not be fair to you, especially since you have been a dealer longer than either of them.
