Why is the JDM block 1,000 more than the other vendor blocks? I know JDM is awsome but why 1,000 more? ? ? I dont wanna start any fights over this question....Just wanna know so when its time for me to get a block i know.

 

It has windows in it so that you can see their name stamped onto the Manley rods...Also if you're like me, you like your gas motor to sound like a diesel and consume oil...NOT!!! I'm still a little upset about that.

sounds like an unblueprinted motor to me, slap and go. excessive piston to wall clearence makes for bad piston slap. oil consumption could either be from excessive clearence on piston to wall or wrongly installed rings.

 

Idles like one too.

In all fairness I think some engines are going to make more noise than others. I have a JDM engine and it doesn't make more noise than any other engine I have heard. It makes less noise than engines from other vendors. I have sprayed a 150 on top of 22 psi many times. I have ran up to 26 psi and the engine is still going strong after I ran it hard for over 20K miles last year.

 

If he can't kill one of JDM motors, that says a lot for the toughness of theses motors. From what I have heard he really tests the limitts of anything he drives.

I actually heard from a reliable source that he is a nuts, is crazy, doesn't know how to drive easy, and beats the hell out that poor truck.

 

2 months down time, $9,000(that is for a shortblock and bigger valves).....and it sounds louder then a powerstroke. Makes ya upset when you see other people get a motor done in under a week. Guess he needs a windshield banner and make it to a couple FFW events. Guess that's what happens when you can't make the races because you have to work 6 days a week to pay for your stuff. -Mat-
