Yeah, I think I would have done something similar if I had the stuff laying around, but I wanted the big 4" tube. The scoop, however, took quite a bit of time to fabricate by hand.

I'm a carpenter. It's the stuff I used to build the dust collection system in my shop. You'd probably have to go to a woodworking supply store. The place I got it at originally was Woodworker's Warehouse, but they've since gone out of business.

BSR is located in charlote and in mooresville. What i did was i used a 3 inch duct that we use on the nose of my cars to mount to the air box. THen i got a naca duct with a 45 degree in it to mount on the bottom of the truck. IF you go to BSR tell them what you are doing and they will fix you up. THey are some great people.

If you're lookin for something cheap and easy, go to Home Depot of Lowe's, and buy a 3" plumbing fitting w/ a flange. Cut a 3" hole in your box, and slide the fitting down from inside the box. Use plastic epoxy to hold it there, and use a stainless band clamp to hold the tube to the fitting.

I thought about it, but I'd have to make quite a few at the same time to be able to sell them for a decent price. It's not like it adds a lot of horsepower, so no one would want to spend a ton on it. I still have the mold, and the materials were cheap, but on the first one, I had about 20 hrs. min into it. (No good for mass producing, but I can't stay still, so it was good therapy!)

I did something similar but used the fog light hole as a scoop. I only used it at the track though since it looks weird without the fog light there, and I wouldn't want to drive it like that in the rain. I also had problems finding a good hose and ended up going with 3" dryer duct. It is rigid and flexible but tears to easy. My setup wasn't nearly as clean though, as duct tape played a key role in my fabrication.
