MSD Ignition

Anyone running with an aftermarket ignition system, if so what are your thoughts?

I run the Ignition Solutions "Plasma Booster" Multi Spark Ignition.

No Major Performance Gains to boast about, but it does play
a part of my overall Mod picture, and I think it's an important addition when running hight Boost and Nitrous.

There not for everyone, and have many thinking they're useless,
but anytime you can get a Better, Stronger, More Efficient and Powerful Burn in the Cylinder, it's a good thing. You truly do reak many rewards from it, but not nessecary Performance rewards.
Everyone makes fun of the Plasma Booster because it doesn't add Power. I think Kenne Bell says it best when talking about his
Boost a Spark Units

Recommended for high cylinder pressure (turbocharged, supercharged, nitrous).
All stock modern day engines have great ignition systems for start up, idle, part throttle, fuel economy etc. It's at WIDE OPEN THROTTLE where they're marginal.
Forget the rhetoric and magazine ads and let's tell it like it really is. Never buy an ignition system because you think it will make more HP, help start ups, increase throttle response or improve fuel economy. You add an ignition system to guarantee it will fire at higher rpm or boost levels.
•Eliminates engine misfire under boost or high load.
•Ideal for supercharged, turbocharged and nitrous applications.
•Will fire spark plugs with up to .100" gap and 30 psi boost.
•Allows wider plug gaps for MORE POWER.
Bla Bla Bla............

With our coil on plug spark set-ups, I don't think there is a whole lot to be gained. I know you may get a small benefit from the plazma booster.

Don't you miss distributors and nice big red or blue plug wires!

I'm thinking in terms of more reliability than added HP, we've all seen ignition products such as the MSDs used on heavily modded race vehicles. Just wondering if this mod would help our situations. What about our big Dog vendors here that race, are they using stock ignition systems?

I wasn't aware of any MSD products for our coil on plug ignitions. I thought they only made ignition stuff such as distributors, coils, etc. for regular distributor style ignitions.

I only know of the plazma booster mod for our trucks.

I think Im the only one with this so far on Gen 2. It's not for the faint hearted, and I'd try to keep the stock stuff as long as possible.

It is used with stock box (CUX2) which you see above the FAST and with MSD to fire the coils.
