Chroming the lower grill?

Anyone have any info on where I might be my 02 lower grill chrome so it will match my Harley upper grill? I tried a J-Jent, but am not 100% happy with the way it turned out.

What was wrong with the j-jent piece? Just curious since I considered going that route eventually.

I think he's wanting to chrome the factory grill to try and match the harley grill better. If you look at the pics you can see that the two grills vary in color slightly because of the different material they are made of.

The difference may not be a big enough problem to some people, but I think that if there was a way to chrome the factory piece then they would go together better.

Chroming plastic

Two websites to check for chroming plastic. www.chromemyplastic.com and www.santaanaplating.com. Both advertise that plastic can be chromed. It's what I have planned to do to match my 02-03 Harley Edition upper grill. The J-Jent lower doesn't match up good enough for me with the tube style and unfortunately the polished stainless steel has a diferent hue than the chrome. The white truck looks really good but I think the stock lower would match better and hopefully the chroming process will match the upper better in hue. Be aware the estimated cost from chromemyplastic is $245 to $325.

Looks like your having the similar problems that I am.
I also bought the j-jent grill. The good thing is that the spacing between the bars is identical to the Harley upper.
The shine is close enough, the problem I have is that the tubes are not "surrounded" like on the upper grille.
I cut out the whole center section of my factory lower grille and I want to have the stock lower surround chromed...made a call and it was gonna be $260

I am looking at some other options

here is mine

I guess mine looks worse because my truck is black, so it really sticks out that they don't match. The while really looks great!

I contacted them about chroming my factory grille after I'm finished modifying it to hold two 4" piaa foglights...they said around $150

It really isn't that noticable. That pic was taken in direct sunlight.
The lower is polished SS and the upper is Chromed plastic.
I'm not crazy about the lay-over lower due to stand-off in relation
w/ upper. I can live w/ it for the time being.
