Help. JLP traction bar install question
Ok, I want to put on my traction bars tomarrow, but I have a question. Can I put the bars on before I put on drop shackles? I dont want to drill anymore holes than I have to in the frame. I dont think this I would have to move the front brackets if I did shackels later, but I would like to know before I put the bars on then go to put in the shackles and realize the front brackets for the bars need to be moved. Anyone know?

Hey Jakhammer,
I just put mine on a couple of weeks back and I would imagine you would want to put the shackles on first due to the fact the angle of the traction bars are going to change when you lower the truck. The directions say to do all the measuring with the suspension in its natural state. If you put the bars on first and then lower the truck later it seems that the bars could possibly be in a bind. I may be wrong but that is my take .......Good luck

Chris

solid and sound advice Chris
Just like baker750 said, I would put the shackles on first. I put my shackles on today and as soon as the JLP traction bars come in they are going on. The shackles are about the easiest thing I have ever done on a vehicle.
