Ported Eaton or Bassani exhaust

Alright well which one should i go for. It's a dead draw beween the two and they are both around the same price range.

I know that the ported eaton makes power while the exhaust does absolutely nothing but the stock exhaust is just so lame. I need you guys to help me decide

I think a truck feels more like a truck, if it has a little rumble to it. My two cents.

blower

hands down

I have the JDM silver bullet and like it way better than the bassani sound, but it's all prefference anyhow. Just make sure if you get the bassani, don't use their clamps!!!

things to consider.

PORTED BLOWER
- if you have other mods and a chip you may need a reburn to reclibrate the a/f ratio
- It will give you dyno prove power at the rear wheels
- easy install.

EXHAUST
- Sounds 100 times better than stock
- no power increase (the stock cats are the bottleneck of the exhaust)
- easy install once you get the stock exhaust off.

It depends on your intentions with the Lightning. Both great mods, asthetics of sound or 30-40 HP gain. ALso according to Brian at Apten, there's no chip reburn requirement.

While the cat back adds to the fun factor theres no way it's going to give you the power increase the ported blower does.

I vote for the exhaust, my L came with the Boral cat back and it's not loud enough for me, so my next mod will prob be the sillver bullet cat back, from what I gather that one seems to be the loudest....or you could do an electric exhaust dump for fairly cheap and only pay a little more to get ported...

thats a tough one, i would be between the two as well. I think i would go with exhust though, because the blower already sounds great, but the exhuast needs some more, get the hell out of my way.

hmmm... this one still seems to somewhat of a toss-up

Those of you who actually have both exhaust and a ported blower, which one did you like better even though i'm sure you loved both?

It's not really a toss-up. It depends on what you want.
I have both, but do you want sound and a nice set of tips OR more power? There power you gain depends on the list of mods you have. I gained 40 hp with my Apten, but Iam sure a "stock" L wouldn't see gains that large. On the other hand, I've seen Lightning run low to mid 12's with a stock exhaust system.

I liked my Bassani, but after adding the Long Tube Headers I just love them

Buy just the magnaflow muffler, let a shop install using factory tips. That will save a bunch of money on the exhaust and in a month or so do the blower.

Cool

I've done both.

I'd suggest the blower. 10 times more bang for the buck. You and everyone around you will now notice the whine more. That's gotta be worth something? Besides if you have a few miles on the truck now it's a good occasion to clean the IC.

Just do both. It will eliminate having to decide.
