Gear Ratio

I know this is a little off topic, but does anyone know the equation for calculating gear ratio (ring and pinion). I remember that it had to do with the number of tire revolutions and the number of driveshaft revolutions, but i can't recall it. Thanks

Divide the tire revolutions by the number of driveshaft revolutions.

No problem. After reevaluting my statement before I had any coffee it might be backwards. One will turn around approximately 3 1/2 times to the others 1 time. You'll have to check for yourself.

Mark the tire and the drive shaft count how many times the drive shaft rotates to one full rotation of the wheel. If yours is a 01 it should almost be 3 and 3/4 turns of the drive shaft 99-00 should be a little over 3 and 1/2 turns 411 gears will be just under 4 and a 1/4 turns and so on.
