From: Colorado,
another bed cover inquiry

Did not want to butt into Hellspawned thread about installing his factory bed cover.

Your not painting a pretty picture of the factory cover and I want black instead of gray.
Check this out and see what you think. It looks and works better in person.
The tensioning device seems like a good idea and the ecentric lock on the back seems like a good peace.

The same place sells a A.R.E hard cover for like $750 with factory matched paint. Rear wing is an extra option. Sorta ricey but I like it.

Your comments please.
That tax refund is starting to burn my leg

If you have a local Ziebart, go and check out the Access cover. They carry them and have a mini one as a display in our store. Cool, but not worth the $$$ for me personally.

The Access looks _very_ much like the Truxedo which I have on my 2002. Haven't had any issues since I secured the the velcro sides properly......, and the roll-away feature of the soft cover beats not having to unmount a hard cover in case of carrying e.g. an ATV.

I had a soft tonneau with my Ranger, and now I bought an ARE lid for my new L.

I didn't see any pricing for the access cover, but if it's pricey, realize that it's only a soft cover. I liked my soft tonneau for the Ranger I had (much like the factory L covers), but anyone who came along could cut it open. I never stored anything valuable back there.

On the other hand, I LOVE my new ARE lid. It's super easy to use, matches the paint perfectly (and looks even better with the matching Zaino coats) and even has power locks (get free coupon from the ARE website). I usually drag a satellite dish and TV down for football tailgating in the fall - I will be keeping them locked in the bed now.

IMO, no soft cover compares to a hard lid. It's just usually that the soft ones are so less expensive.

I've seen the wing, but I didn't get it. It can always be added as an option later.
