Change the oil at about 400-500 miles and just take it generally easy til then.

So when do the mods start?

Rich

Oh yeah, Welcome!

Welcome new brother

Get about 500 miles on it then drive it like you stole it. Harder break-in = faster truck

Hell I was at the track w/800 miles on it. Been there 3 times in the first 2700 miles. Runs like a scalded ape hehe

Congrats on the new L

If your **** like me then I would recommend you change the fuel filter when you change the oil at 500 miles. I bought mine about a month ago but mine like yours is a 03 and was 4241 of 4270 built on 6/25/03 so it sat around a while with the same fuel in it.

I just figured it was better to be safe then sorry by changing the fuel filter…

I bought a sonic blue as well, beautiful color and superfords has stated it is the fastest color produced…

Congrats! My '04 L has only 115 miles or so on it, and I've taken it almost to WOT once already (couldn't help it, I had to put some highschool kid driving a 5.0 in his place) and shut it down at around 80mph. I've also taken it up to about 90 or so on the freeway under natural driving - I didn't do a hard acceleration to get there.

I think I'll change my oil at 500 miles, and replace it with Amsoil synthetic then.

Have fun with it! I know I am LOVING my L!

Its not 1970

there is no operating limitations for a break in period for your truck.............Hammer it now that will break it in right.

congrats....lots of L owners in NY that will help you with mods.

If your warranty is important, I would just stay with a mild predator tune and a 4lb pulley and a FTVB.
