From: Colorado,
I might add that if you are going to just go in and say, clean your intercooler or have a look at the rotors you don't have to remove that top manifold do you? I am trying to remember what I did when I changed out my intercooler. I think I took the upper manifold, throttle body out together with the SC.

One of the things that scared me was all the little hoses and electrical.

The electrical connectors can't go back wrong cause they won't fit!
The hoses are pretty much the same way. Just stretch them out in a neat manor and bingo thats where it goes.

Not to mention there are a ton of pictures out now.

If you need to drain your intercooler there is a valve on the lower left side of the intercooler. Lay on your back and you can't miss it.

Only trick I can think of is that you need to leave the bolt in on the back passenger side when you lift everything off and make sure it is in there dangling when you put it back together.

Lastly, it would be a great time to do any spark plug work while you have all that stuff out of the way.

Thank You Rob and all the rest.

is it absolutley necessary to buy new s/c bolts? the guy at the dealership told me that i probably dont need to if they arent beat up. but i know that they are torque to yield bolts and they need to be replaced. any other words of wisdom on this?

From: Colorado,
I reused mine and have not noticed a problem in 12k miles since.

When I ordered the ford replacement intercooler kit it came with gaskets but no new bolts so I figured it was ok to reuse them.
There has been some debate over it but I have yet to read a post that claims a problem from using the old ones.

I reused my S/C bolts for 3 years, mostly because I didn't realize they were torque to yield Now with the KB I go by the book.

Rob....I leave the plenum and throttle body on the blower and pull it all at the same time, its easier to R&R the upper manifold when the blower is off and it is also a nice handle to grab onto when pulling the blower.
