160 or 170 thermostat

I have the 160 degree stat. I do get the Check Engine light when it gets cold here because the "Excessive time to operating temperature" code pops up. Excessive meaning it never gets there when it’s too cold out LOL.

Since I drive my L all year round I take it out in the winter so I do not get too much condensation build up in the motor. If you have an oil separator you will see it fill with foam and water in the cold with a lower temp stat.

160 here with no MIL. However i took the EGR off two days later and the MIL came on then and has been on since so i cant prove if it is throwing the code for low temp also on top of the EGR code.
