What is the best soft tonneau cover ?

What is the best fitting, lowest profile, best looking soft tonneau cover for the L ? My L didn't have it as an option and the Ford parts dept at my dealer only had one with snaps. Not interested in anything with snaps. Any suggestions from you seasoned L owners.

Your dealer can order you the OEM snapless cover, but it is not the factory grey one. I ended up getting a factory grey one used because I like them. As far as the "best" cover, I think the Extang is the best quality cover on the market. They are not super low-profile though....

The factory one is awesome ... I don't see why you can't get
one from Ford ... They have replacedmine once becuase the
stitching was starting to come out of a corner after two years

The OEM one they order now is a black one from Lund. The one with the -BA ending part #. They can get the grey one, but not as a complete kit. They now order it piece by piece for an outrageous sum of money.

I'm very happy with the Extang Black Max cover I bought almost 3 years ago.

Is it the same type of fastening system? That's what
makes the factory one sit still at 140 mph methinks ...

If my L was outside instead of in for warranty seat work,
I would go get the part numbers .....

I can get you the part #'s for the grey one (piece by piece) and the "OEM Lund Factory aftermarket one" as well...

Ordered mine through the parts department at the dealer where I bought the truck. I had it on the same day that I picked it up and could not have been happier. I paid big money for it, but like it much better than the hard covers and all the other soft options. Mine does not ear up in the corners, although the stitiching is a bit loose in the rear pass. corner. It has it's own warranty, so I may take advantage of that when the weather finally clears up.

Thumbs up Factory cover

I think the factory OEM snapless cover does a nice job, I was lucky and had my tuner pick one up from Downs Ford in North Jersey for dealers cost. I put it on my 2000 L 2 years ago and it's still in perfect shape, John H.
