Lower Pulley install question

I am installing a lower JLP pulley. IT says it will be snug when going on to the balancer... but it doesnt look like it is going on correctly. looks like it is going on crocked or somthing. I wounder if they sent me the wrong year... is there a differance in pulleys for the different years??? thanks Doug

The 01 and up has a bigger center on the pulley is there any dirt around where the pulley seats on the balancer? Could you have a 01 balancer on instead of the 00 balancer? Mine when right on but it was milled to fit a 01 it came off a 99.

Is there any paint on the balancer may sound a little funny but this can be just enough to make it too tight scrape it off.Maybe some wd40 on the hub just dont get it on the belt race we don't need that belt slipping. This is the first I've heard of this.Maybe use the bolts to pull it on and tighten them even as to not getting the pulley ****ed to one side and binding up.

Here is what I did, and I don't know if its right but it worked:

Took 3 -1/4" extensions that are 6" long, and placed them through the holes on the hub into the holes on the balancer, Now you have a good guide to get the hub on straight,

Then pushed the hub into the balancer as far as i could. I ended up lightly tapping it with a hammer until I had it in far enough to start the bolts.

That should get you started.

That just doesn't sound right somewhere. I've got an 01 and put on a 2lb from PSP when new - and a 6lb from JLP 2 years ago - and both fit just fine. I'd take some good measurements of what you have and call JLP and see what they think before you go too far with something.

well you got me... I took my dremal and cleaned out the inside of the pulley hole a bit..... and then it went on..... I think this one must have been off a little bit or somthing when it was machined. I was looking at the hole and it just did not look like a perfect circle on the pulley. I have it all bolted up.. so I should be good to go dont ya think..... thanks DOug
