Painted Calipers

Hey guys, was looking into painting the calipers this coming weekend and was wondering if anyone had any pictures of their lightnings with this already done. Trying to give the brakes a clean look, with out spending tons of money on wilwoods or brembos, but not sure on what colors would look good on a red 01.

I have a red 01 and painted my calipers red!
I used a high temp engine spray paint that I bought at Discount Auto Parts. It has been on there over a year and has not faded at all.

Looks pretty good. A pain to paint or did the task go pretty easy?

Very easy. Just clean the chit out of the calipers with brake cleaner and use newspaper and masking tape to mask it off. Oh yeah, you got to remove the wheels first hehe

The squeal ocasionally like they always have, but there is no way painting your calipers could contribute to squealing brakes.

Hey 01, did you leave the callipers on when you painted and then just mask around everything? I was thinking of doing this also.

I was looking at a kit from the Eastwood company and they state you can do the paint job without removing the calipers. Here's the site:

Looks like a nice gloss finish to them, just have to decide what color.

i have not done it on the L yet but have done it on my ricer. I did not remove the caliper. just taped / masked everything up real good. I basically covered the entire front half of the car, then the rear.

I have a Black 2001 L. i used the Eastwood kit 2 years ago - no issues. you paint it on and it self-levels - no brush marks, etc. i used red. don't need to take calipers off, and easy to do since no masking needed, since you paint it on.
