Support the Supporting Vendors

I am bothered by something I see way to often here. My post may or may not get moved....I don't care...I am going to take my turn spouting off.

In case anyone reading these forums hasn't figured it out yet, we are fortunate to have some of the best "Performance Specialists" you will find anywhere, right here as supporting vendors.

When any of these specialists takes the time and effort to bring a new performance enhancement to the table, they deserve our business as a reward.

I have mods on my truck that have come from just about every darned one of them. I could have run off and bought alot of this stuff from some "me too" guy, maybe a bit cheeper here and there. I guess I could have gotten a blower port job from Joe Bob the machinist out of BFE. I could have went straight to fluidyne and jury rigged my own heat exchanger. But in the end, if a problem developed, I would have been running right back here looking for advice, that would have come from one of the performance specialists, even if indirectly from another member here.

Come on folks, those of you that think it is OK to pull this garbage are not really seeing the whole picture.

If enough folks play the "me too" game long enough, our performance specialists will quit seeing the motivation for bringing new enhancements to the table.

Think About it,

Rocks

I'll throw in my 2 cents. When vendors overcharge for a product, it is natural that others will duplicate or come up with someone on their own. It is a natural reaction. If a vendor wasn't making such a margin on a specific part, most people wouldn't even consider finding another source.

This post reflects no specific vendor or product but should be considered before complaining about people doing what is in their best interest. Every part I own came from a supporting vendor to this point.

After all these years you still miss the point.

Metco parts are sold by many of the supporting vendors.
Art Carr as well. Rocks said he intentionally left off the vendors name.

Supporting vendors use prt of their revenue to help pay the bills to keep this site and others open, they also sponsor classes at events and have other expenses that the fly by nite cheapest guys dont...

Specifically when it came to the clunk washers - The ONLY source I could find was your email address off JL's site. Based on our exchanges over the years and my view of your conduct both online and off I decided that I would rather keep the clunk than buy the washers from you. As far as I could tell Herb wasnt making them anymore... And since I bought a set from Metco at FFW I called them and asked if they had them, they said yes, and I bought 2 sets. If the metco parts had been $40 I would have still bought them from Metco rather than you...

The reasons go back to the topics brought up by Rocks and
others..

Doug
