Stretched the Rods a little Last Night :o)

To tell you the truth,
I thought I blew it up for a minute there

I ran home at lunch and picked it up since it was @47
degrees, I set the rear tires to 27lb's of air, with all
intentions to SOMEHOW get a WOT run in. I did have
some serious fun with it going back to work, after work,
and tonight, but traction remains a MAJOR PROB.

I got to tell you, this thing is truly running like a Raped Ape,
I CAN NOT believe how much frucking power I have right
now, I can't imagine spraying it on top of it,
(but of course I will) .
So anyway I still havent got it to hold a WOT so I decided
to try something diff (STUPID MOVE) I'm stopped at a light,
I put the shifter down in first gear, roll out and stay @ 3000
RPM. She's whining like Teenager EDIT ""GIRL"" taking it up da *** for the first time, HEHEHEHEHE
and then WAM, --> I WOT THE SOB<--
and all hell brakes loose, I mean she's screaming she's spinning she's whining, shes slipping and sliding, and even know "I did"
manage somewhere inbetween to throw 2nd, I hear and feel it over revving, I look down and it's PINNED at 6000 RPM "YIKES"
""""I thought is was all over"""" I could feel the Motor
saying ENOUGH ALREADY............
(and before you ask NO IT DID NOT HIT MY REV LIMITER)
MINE IS SET EXTREMLY HIGH, I HATE IT........

Anyway the good news it, it didn't blow and the better
news is, I tried it again and again till I perfected my new
method to get on it, and a way to have SOME MAJOR FUN.

If I'm stopped at a light I put it down in first, I then roll out and hold it around 2000 - 3000 RPM, "MAN IS THE WASP WHINING" Then I stab it to the floor, of course all hell breaks loose, BUT immiediatly as fast as I stap it, I throw second, "get off it a mili second" and then stap it again starting all hell to brake loose again, then I do the same for third. Kinda like you would stap it, then shift, then stapit again, on Manual transmission, (instead of power shifting) the results are amazing. I CAN NOT believe how much frigging Torque and Power this sucker is putting down.

Even with 27lbs of air and moving at 3000 RPM in 1st, when you hit it, ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE. Then when you immediatly Shift
2nd get off it a "milli second" and then stap it again, the tires again start roasting, but you have much more control, then you do it again, shift 3rd immediatly, get off it a mili sec, and stap it again. The results were a roll to 120 MPH blast basically burning rubber the entire way up through third gear
but you have fairly good control because your keeping the RPM's down, and getting off it a sec between shifts.

IT'S FUN AND I'M GONNA BE DOING THIS A LOT NOW
Still cant touch it from a Stop but Slicks and warmer weather
will help that, might as well use the Hoosiers on the streets now,
they took my dam race track away

Overreving reminds me of my old 5.0L stang days. A set of GT40 heads w/roller rockers translated into some pretty sweet tunes.

Thats great Chris Funny as schitt..... GOOD ONE

Listen I'm sorry I knew you all see this as over revving the L,
but for the record the FTVB HAS FINALLY CORRECTED MY WOT SHIFT POINTS and now it ****s where it belongs 5500-5700.
Plus 90% of the time I idle around town at 2000 RPM like an old lady because I can't get any traction, which brings me to my next question,
What good is having a powerful truck,
if we cant WOT it
we cant downshift it
we cant do long WOT blast
we cant we cant we cant....
Plus what kind of BS is it not having control of shifting the truck
manually. I've never owned a car that you CAN NOT shift manual,
EXCEPT THE L.... Normally, if you shift it manually from 1st to 2nd,
bam it shifts, but with the L, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The Pin taching shift was my fault last night for not shifting 2nd manually at 3000 RPM and hope it decides to finally shift by 5500 or so

I'm so fustrated lately....
it sucks bad enough not being able to floor the sucker and stay in it through at least a few gears, but now a days I can't go 1/4 throttle or shift second without loosing control and roasting the tires. Even know I have a new second car, I refuse to not use the L for 1/2 a yr due to ground temps, SCREW THAT, I aint paying $550.00 a month for it to sit and rot. It sits on the wet schitty days, other wise I use it.

ALL THE FUN OF DRIVING MY LIGHTNING HAS BEEN TAKEN AWAY, and now they took my only track away, so the bottom line is,
all my fun has to be on the streets except for when I take a full day trip out of state a couple of times a year. Which leaves me with two choices, find a way to get the power to the ground and have fun, OR SELL IT.

If the tranny blows, it blows, if the motor blows it blows,
if it happens right now, I loose it and get someting else,
or it sits a yr til I have money to fix it.

In the mean time, I WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE FUN
(and lower the rear tires to @ 22 -25 lbs and see if that helps)

For the Record:

Today, I went out Wood Ave this morning. Came to a complete stop, pulled the shift lever down to 1.
Floored the gas pedal to the floor, and shifted to 2nd, it pulled straight and true, without a hint of wheel spin.
By the time I got the shifter in drive, I was flying past my turn, so I had to get on the brakes hard........real hard!

I would try it again tomorrow morning, but I don't think the LTD can take a beating like that every morning
