Stretched the Rods a little Last Night :o)

Today, I went out Wood Ave this morning. Came to a complete stop, pulled the shift lever down to 1.
Floored the gas pedal to the floor, and shifted to 2nd, it pulled straight and true, without a hint of wheel spin.
By the time I got the shifter in drive, I was flying past my turn, so I had to get on the brakes hard........real hard!
I would try it again tomorrow morning, but I don't think the LTD can take a beating like that every morning

Hey Rob!!! Man don't blow that thing up dude!! I must admitt I'm with you on the tranny thing though. I bougt the FTVB so I don't screw the tranny, then next thing I read is DON"T do downshift burnouts or you F the tranny. I thought that's what the FTVB was supposed to do. You should drive the L to have fun, but don't grenade that block.
Maybe you should tub the bed and narrow the axle so you can get some serious meat inside the fenders and hook up.
Wouldn't it be great to be telling this same story with the front end a foot off the ground
Remember the old days when they used to have them rear engined trucks and vans with there buts dragging and throwing sparks all the way down the track?

WOW lots of good feedback
LMAO @ Sal
johnathanh 5600 is way too low for a rev limiter for me,
you truly want your L shifting from 5300 - 5500, and at certain times it will shift higher, as high as 5700, (was more in my case til I did the FTVB) so you need a buffer not to hit that limiter.
Ya it does suck not having 94 Octane anymore, and I am amazed how awesome it runs on 93. TG for my Tune, it seems to work flawless in any and all conditions and any setup I throw at it,
like I always said, you need some safety and margin of error built into a tune.
My guess is this, I did this awesome Port Mod and gained a good (lets say 30/35HP for argument sake) WOW thats dam near a small shot of Juice, and very seat of the pants noticable.
Then on top of that, my guess is my A/F's did lean out (ya I know I do alot of guessing) but since I was super rich to begin with, it was enough to really wake up the truck EVEN MORE.
I'm obviously still at a safe level or it would be detonation in winter temps, especially on 93 octane. (OR BLOW UP with my recent death ride tests) IT HASN'T
Everyone knows a leaner A/F truck, is a faster truck.
But the fact I can use either 16 or 18 degree programs in temps as low as 20 degrees tells me I'm still plenty rich, AND DETONATION FREE.
But OK I promise to be a little easier on the tranny

I decided to do some rob02 emulation around my town today.
I only did 1/2 throttle max in 1st adn 2nd gears, I'm not as crazy as him.
Sure is fun cruising down the main road downtown in first gear doing 30mph at 3500rpm haha

I like driving down the street in cruising away from a light and if I see someone I want to impress, I step on the brake pedal (to provide a little resistance) and stab the throttle. Makes for a nice smoke show. I've had allot of people tell me they can't believe an automatic can light the tires from a roll like that.
When I get my ported Apten, I bet I wont even have to tap the brakes.
