First let me say great board. Been registered for a long time but only read. I'm moving to chrome 20s and wanna know should I go with the 01/02 or the 99/00 style.(any pro/cons) Also which brand and size of tire. My truck is a 02 L with a 3/4 drop. THanks in advance for any and all replies.

Seems like the 99/00's can be found a little cheaper than the 01/02 style.

Wheelreplicas.com has the old style on sale for $1069/set. Tirerack has Goodyear Eagle GTII 285/50R20's for under $140 each. Shipped, mounted and balanced locally you're looking at around $1850.

There are package deals on Ebay for the 01/02 style rims with the same tires for $1999+shipping.

I personally will be getting a set of 20" chrome 01/02's for my truck. They just look better in my opinion.

 

285/50/20 is probably to tall for ur drop.
295/40/20 is very close to diameter of the stock
18s. theres plenty of tires in that size.dunlops seem
to be the favorites around here.

I have the 01-02 Chrome Lightning Factory Reproduction Rims with 295-40-20 Goodyear Hp-Zr Tires all around with a around a 4/4 Drop! I have had no problems and really like the look on my Lightning! I like the newer squarer 01-02 rims style better than the 99-00 Lightning rims.

Just make sure that if you go with the '99/'00 style rims they are set up for the 14 mm stud diameter that your '02 has. The '99/'00 trucks has 12mm studs..
