I had that same problem on my 03, it ended up being a bolt on the exhaust that was hitting, took a while but finally the dealer and myself figured it out. By the way, it was just in front of the muffler.

Any more info on how you fixed the problem with the bolt in front of the muffler? What was it hitting, was it loose or something? I wouldn't really care about the noise but I went about a year without it and now all of a sudden I have it. Makes me think something broke or isn't as it should be under there.

Actually after trying to move things around for a while, they decided (the dealer) to order a new cat back and I haven't had a problem since.

Has everyone checked their rear shock mounts?

I have the same rear clunk, just started noticing it last summer pulling into a parking lot. Only does it on right turns. To me it sounds like some part of the rear suspension is being twisted then popping back into place. I just though I broke something and couldn't find the problem -

My L and my 4X4 F-150 does the same thing. It seems to be worse in colder weather though. During the summer (warmer) months I hardly notice it

I'd have to say I was noticing that too. I wasn't sure if that was the case or if I just broke something since it's been cold out. Seems to be more prevalent with the 03's, wonder why that is?

Damn - sounds like an epidemic? Glad my 03 hasn't caught it yet.

i got the same problem on my '00, right or left turns up or down an incline. it happened when the suspension was factory and still does it with the roush kit and qa1s? my clunk sounds like its coming from directly under the cab i think it might be the frt sway bar hitting the inside of the rim?? i dont know hopefully someone will help us out?

Yep my truck clunks in the rear too. I have not done the clunk fix for the front yet, but I can tell the difference between the two. Whats really cool is when you can hear them clunk together .

while we're talking about clunks, has anybody ever gotten the one when you hit the brakes moderately hard? I think its just a moddified front clunk, but that ones cool too.

It might be the calipers rotating a bit ... or the pads
slopping around a bit ...

I took my L in for some minor warranty work today, and asked 'em to look for this rear-end clunk that I'd been hearing. I didn't really expect them to find or fix it.

I just got a call, and to my surprise they say they fixed it. The bed mounting bolts just needed to be tightened up. I had a Line-X liner sprayed in, and so I'm sure they just didn't tighten them back up enough when they were finished.
