Warranty Question??

I will most likely be getting my L this Sat or Monday (can't wait) anyway I was curious how many people here have a warranty. I feel it's pretty safe to have one but wasn't sure. I don't plan on doing a lot of super mods but I will be doing the basics so I want to atleast protect my self. One thing that worrys me is I may in time plan to get more serios with the mods and if something does happen, the warranty wont even cover it because I modded. Any tips, also what is the average cost most have paid for one. The ford dealership here in town sais they would do a 3 year/60k for a grand, that seems pretty decent to me.

If you're planning on modding your truck, you'll have to pay the consequences.....It gets old hearing people trying to screw Ford for their problems....."you wanna play, you gotta pay".................................just my own personal opinion.......

My truck is modded and still under warranty, never had any issues related to my mods, I don't even remove any of them if I have a problem with the truck........JR

You’re talking about extended warranties. As was stated it comes with a 3 year OR 36,000 mile which ever happens first.

You can purchase an “extended” warranty at ANY time during the 3 year or 36,000 mile warranty. In other words you can wait until 2 years 11 months or 35,900 miles.

Here is the thing to know about extended warranties that some don’t understand and that is the run at the same time your factory warranty does. If you buy a 5 year / 75,000 mile warranty it starts from the date you bought the truck and starts a 0 miles.

So here is Ford’s web site for extended warranties if you decide you want one now or later. I would advise NOT to buy from the dealer because it is simple a money maker for them. You could use the site below to compare Ford’s price and your dealer’s price:

Ford Extended Warranties

It is the same plan you would get from your dealer. The only extra cost is if you have over 12,000 miles there is a $100 surcharge.
