volant intake difference

What is the difference between the two volant intakes(or motors for that matter)that it is 99 to mid 01 and the other is mid 01 to 03. I e-mailed them but they never replied. Anyway to easily tell when a 01 was made? thanks

The older Lightnings have the smaller 80mm mass air flow sensor; they then started using a 90mm so the boot would be different between the two.

actually i made the mistake of buying the later model volant for my 2001. my truck was made in march of 2001 and the cut off was june so i decided to go with the later model i figured whats the difference. well the difference is the oxygen sensor mount on the later model one has 2 protruding screws that make it imposible to seat the sensor flush. I decided to grind down both screw heads until i can contact volant and get the correct piece. It works great now but grinding down the screw heads bothers the heck out of me.
