I'd say it depends on what mods you already have. If you're lightly modded, I'd go for the ported blower, otherwise, headers.

I haven't done the blower mod yet but bang for the buck, the blower mod is the ticket, with that said long tubes, high flow cats and a cat back will give you a perm-a-grin every time you start your truck and will make you the envy of every hot rodder in your nieghborhood.

The benefits offered by both of these items in terms of performance, increases with the intensity of mods on your truck. If your truck, is near stock, then the addition of either will make a marginal difference, BUT as you add more to the truck, they both will begin to take more and more advantage of them.

Reckon, what I'm trying to say is that if the truck is near stock, these are both mods you can "grow" into. Having said that, the ported blower is going to offer a little better "bang for your buck", and is much less labor intensive, but will REALLY shine in conjunction with the Long Tubes (this is assuming you run at least a 4lb lower pulley).

I'd do the blower, then the LT's. Just my .02...

Goodluck,
Rob

both mods offer similar performance.

but, I'd say hands down that based on the results I've seen on others ported blowers (I haven't gotten mine back from Apten yet) that the blower is the way to go.

I think I got like 18-20 hp and 30 ft/lbs across the board with my long tubes and jdm exhaust on an otherwise BONE STOCK truck.

there is a good amount of labor involved with this mod though, if the blower will give you 30hp/30tq for $1000-1500 LESS MONEY and substantially less labor time or money, then I'd say it's obvious, go for the blower.

just my .02

later,
chris

Since it's still cold out, I say go with the ported blower for now. You can pull and re-install the blower in under 2 hours (each).

Wait till warmer weather then get the LT's and install them yourself.

Ported Blower

I believe the ported blower is a better investment or bang for the buck vs long tube headers.

I say ported blower. Seems like everyone that's done it loves it, and it's a lot cheaper. I know it's the next mod I want to do.

$.02
