header install question, need answer fast!

I'm installing the JDM/Kooks complete exhaust systen this morning. I have everything loose on the stock system. Do I have to remove the rear Trans crossmember (for removal of stock system or for installing new one)? Looks like the stock system will not come out without removing it. I'm trying not to undo any of the joints. Maybe I have to if I don't want to remove the crossmember. Please help fast

Nope.........just jack the truck up and it will all come out without having to hack up the stock system.

hmmm

some trucks might be different because i couldn't not get the driver's cat/midpipe out without cutting the the piece of stock that sicks out and rests on the mount on the crossmember. Truck was on a lift and i twisted that thing every which way and it was impossible .

Make sure to unplug the o2 sensors first though!!!!

Mine wouldn't come out and it was also wedged between the traction bar and the frame. I wound up getting pissed off and cutting it in abot 10 pieces.

I couldn't get mine out either. So I got mad and used it as an excuse to go out and buy a sawzall.

Strangley alot of things get cut now.

ShadowBolt,
I know this is a really old post, but what did you wind up doing. I am in the same spot now as you where then. Should I take out the cross member?
