Ceramic powder coated upper plenum

hi guys, I don't have any closer pics yet, but here is a shot of my extrude honed/ powdercoated upper plenum.

it may not be as nice as a full polished piece, but it's basically ZERO maintenance compared to a bare polished part, is a thermal or heat resistant coating, is impervious to pretty much anything but acid, and didn't cost much at all.

later,
chris

I don't have the receipt in front of me right now, but it wasn't that much at all.

I had the upper intake plenum, the lower intake, thermostat housing, the s/c to intake midplate, timing cover, and the s/c idler bracket done, and I think it was like $250 - $300 for EVERYTHING!

the timing cover looks bad though because it was such a poor casting quality from ford and I didn't take time to sand it down.

later,
chris

not sure I understand, but extruhone the intake plenum, lower intake, midplate for 300 bills?

Thats sounds like a great deal! Not sure I understand the reason the thermostat housing, and idler bracket bracket where done, except to "bling" in motor compartment. But if I understand you, thats a hell of a price. Was the price because of the previous work you sent, or is that the "every customer " price?

Thanks

OK, I just went back and re-read my original post.

I can see how there could be some confusion.

so let me clarify. what I was really trying to show here was just the powdercoat job.

I had my upper plenum, mid plate, lower intake, t-stat housing, timing cover, and s/c idler/tensioner bracket powdercoated in a heat reflecting high luster powdercoating. The cost to have all of these items done was a total of somewhere under $300.

the part that I showed in the top pic was my upper plenum, which just by coincidence happens to have been extrude honed some time late last year. the extrude hone processing of the interior walls of the plenum cost something like $150 and is completely unrelated to the exterior powdercoat finish that I was trying to illustrate.

sorry for the confusion. I hope I've cleared things up.

thanks,
chris

Superfords,
?
I am going to do that to my plenum and blower. ? is did you polish it first and then powder coat or just powder coat over the factory finish?
Thanks
