Ceramic powder coated upper plenum

Polishing is more bling bling.........but takes more work and is more expensive.

so ok kinda a altered version of the previous question, which may have been what the guy was getting at...Did he ceramic coat over the factory finish or did he have to strip that first then ceramic coat over the bare aluminum?
HI!... You must sand/bead blast a part before CERAMIC COATING it. Or the coating won't stick properly. My local guy also heats the part up to burn off any oils in the steel/aluminum.
yes to the questions above, I did have to chemically strip the factory dark grey powdercoat prior to having the upper plenum recoated in silver.
since the silver ceramic powdercoat is reflective, I took some time and sanded the upper down after I had stripped it. I didn't do a full polish job by any means, just took the rough "as cast" texture off of the aluminum. sanding it first will make it look more like polished aluminum.
the lower intake and thermostat housing I had coated right out of the box, because they are not powdercoated from the factory.
