EGR removal = Check engine light

I removed the EGR last night and all the sensors that hook to it. On the short drive to school this morning the Check engine Light came on. I know some say that didnt get a light but did you guys remove all the sensors? I have all the connectors just tie rapped over to the side and the vac line pluged. Should i just put all the sensors back on and plug them up and try it like that or just get my chip burned for no EGR?

unplug any sensor = dtc code
Youy have to get a chip burned to shut off the dtc code.

Not too much - but it sure do look purdy under the hood after you remove all that garbage.

The EGR system really only comes into play on crusing, lowering cylinder temps, and "supposedly" a cleaner burn.

I had mine removed, couldn't stand the SES, so put it back. Will remove again once I have my PCM flashed for it.

Im gonna try putting the sensors back on and pluging them in but leave the EGR tube itslef off. BUt it looks good with all this off.

It makes it easier to change the plugs also.

I took all my EGR stuff off, including the mount that holds the sensors. It sure makes changing the plugs alot easier.

Anyone that that has ever owned a Ford should be used to having the SES light on .........

I saw you're using JDM stuff. Jim can burn you a chip to remove any codes. I used his chip when I passed the emmisions test last year.

FYI -putting the sensor back on (dpfe) wont matter as it measures egr flow so the code will still come back, same with no egr vacuum reg

Why take it off? besides the plug thing, curious as egr only flows durring cruise and not durring wot or idle.

A plus is that it reduces nox emissions and pinging durring cruise, i guess a neg would be egr warming up the intake some (if so i wonder how much)
