FINALLY...A JDM tune WITHOUT the chip

Here is the E-mail I got from Jim@JDM today

"Vinnie,

Here is a picture of the SCT programmer. It has 4 bank capabilities. Holds 3 programs. This is Superchips Custom. Basically it gives us the capability to install our JDM programs into it. It also has a built in OBD-2 scanner. Just copy the link for the pic.

Thanks,

Justin@JDM"

Thats right. You will soon be able to get the JDM tunes without the chip.
Using the SCT programmer technology I will have 3 CUSTOM JDM tunes at my disposal at all times or 2 tunes plus the stock one.
Jim is testing out some stuff now and I will go there at the end of the month for a Mild (For long drives), Wild(race side) and KICK-AZZ (10 second passes)programs installed for me to use w/o the worry of a loose chip or having to drive to JDMs . He can E-mail tunes.

I know some of this stuff is nothing new to predator guys, but I LOVE my JDM tunes and can have 3 tunes at once and Scanning capabilities.

You will have to contact JDM about price and release date.

I am very EXCITED.

VINNIE

I would definitely be in for one of these, simply because of the email/connectivity feature!

Count me in 100%

Curious, can you hook to a laptop and add or remove tunes on that tool. Pricing of the tool in comparison to the Predator tool? It's great that JDM has something along the Predator line for the JDM faithfuls!

Give JDM a call for the details 1-732-780-0770.

This definately fills all the needs for me. I drive my L alot in all types of conditions(Long drives, racing, cruising) and now in a couple minutes I can have the program I need.

Also the scanning will be a cool bonus too. I have been looking for a scanner anyway.

Vinnie,

With the datalogging feature can I download the info to a laptop in order to massage it with Excel or a database and integrate my A/F logging info to give me the 'whole picture'? Is the software for reading the datalogged info on a laptop available? How many minutes of datalogging can I store in this? What is the refresh rate for data logging compared to a Predator?

When am I getting my spare PCM and the phenolic spacer from you? And why, oh why did you tease me with the roll pan only to so cruelly dash my hopes this afternoon???

Told you I'd hammer you with questions you couldn't answer you hump - except for the last two!

Dan

It'll be nice to see what the competition in the progrrammer arena is going to do to prices. Of course, now that I already have mine. Crap!!! LOL I got my tune from JLP and have been extremely happy.

He can E-mail tunes
Any SCT dealer will be able to email you "tunes" in about 90 days from now. (not available yet)

The cable needed for your laptop or home PC will cost an extra 100-150 bucks or so (could be lower, could be higher, thats a ballpark)

You guys should really talk to Mike Troyer more often, he was the first SCT dealer and has been working with this unit for months and is the only one working one programs for the 04 F-150

Excellent tuning tool nontheless

That's great news since my truck doesn't start with the Superchip installed. Maybe I can finally get my truck out of the driveway.
