Factory Authorized Mod Sticker???
A friend is looking at an '02 L, red, at Sam Galloway Ford in Fort Myers Florida. $22,900 is the asking price with 25,000 miles on her. I haven't seen it yet, but according to him it's in really nice shape, Magnaflow, K&N cone (possibly from REM).
My question is - there is a sticker in the engine bay - it is a "Ford Factory Approved Modification" sticker, with hand writing that is not readable, Does anyone know what mod this could be? I am looking at the truck tonight and wanted some insight.
Thanks

it sounds like it's a sticker that dealers are supposed to fill out and apply under the hood anytime that they update or reprogram the pcm with a newer calibration.
if we are talking about the same thing, then it has NOTHING to do with aftermarket performance whatsoever.
it is for emissions and legal purposes.
some techs take the time to fill them out and apply them, most don't.
I haven't filled one out in years.

I had one of those stickers on my '96 Cobra when I got it, it's just like superfords says, they recalibrated the ECM and put that sticker there. Mine had a handwritten code number for what exactly they had done, but I never found out exactly what it meant.
