I will go at it when it gets warmer...We have only had 2 days above freezing in over a month..After spending close to 5 hours on that one bolt, with penatrating oil and a 24" breaker bar,and it is the last bolt on the drivers side with limited space to get at it i decided that was it for now..I am young at heart but the body is getting sore from hanging over the fender..I may look for a used Eaton and get it ported and have the machine shop get that bolt out...I get upset when you get everything apart and the last bolt gets you..

When you reassemble it, I read that yo torque in 2 stages. First 18 ft lbs in sequence and the in the same order 33ft lbs.

Does anyone know why this one bolt in particular is so difficult to remove? It seems as though a lot of people are having trouble. Maybe I should get my Eaton ported before I get too many miles on it. Are guys with higher miles having more problems than a lower mileage unit, or is it pretty consistant?

Mine is a 2000 with 45000 miles on it.. My main objective was to clean the intercooler adn while i was at it send out the blower to be ported.It was discouraging.. I usually can handle what is thrown at me..

2003 with 9000 miles on it and I didn't have any problem bolts. The first couple turns they "popped" but after that they came out fine. Ya and Ford didn't use any anti-seize on mine either. Nothing ever goes as planned...good luck though

Have you tried tapping on the bolt head while pulling...I have used this in the past on some stubburn nuts and bolts....heating it up as is said....2 dis-similar metals sometimes has what is referred to as an electrolysis problem..stray current bonds them together...this was a problem in the SHO with the thermostats..Mine came out ..they seemed alot tighter than 32 ft pounds...I put a cheater pipe on mine and after a few turns they backed out ...there was a lot of friction..the threads were slightly galded....Good luck

This spring I will get it off for you if you want. I have all the right tools and have removed the blowers a bunch of times.

These bolts are starting to sound scarey, (&#@%(@$#$@
Hope mine don't give me trouble

BTW
I've heard a few diff Torque Specs so Far,
Someone please clear that up, I assume you work from the
Middle out and criss cross your way to the end's ???

WHAT IS THE CORRECT TORQUE SPEC'S, --> 33 ft lb's ???
And is it true you do it in 2 stages as said, 18 then 33 ???
