Air temp

Air temp

I have done some major mods this winter and I was wondering what is the max air temp that is safe? Measuring at the intake, My truck is going to the dyno on wednesday and I want to measure the air temp but I dont have anything to measure it to so I need some help.

The higher the temp the less HP you will make. The dyno will record the air temp that your L is dynoing in. If you want to monitor the engine air temp you will need a scan tool or autotap. I would not worry about the air temp causing problems. Hope this helps.. Good luck...

I am not sure about the "max" but i have noticed detonation a few times and i have put the truck up untill spring. It is just not worth the risk, and i dont want to retune just for winter. I have noticed it at above 50 degrees though.. hope this helps.

Are you talking about ambient (outside air) or blower discharge temps?

I am looking at discharge temp going into the cylinders.
