Anyone running a Stage 2 Cam on their L?
Hey Guys,
Just finished off my order from JLP and finally decided to top everything off with a set of stage 2 cams. What can expect, in terms of :1. performance 2. sound ? Anything else? Should I have gone with a stage 3? It will be a daily driver, and took the the advice from Jlp that the stage 3 may be too agggresive for everyday use..whats your thoughts?

I have Stage 2 Crowers in my truck, they are very sweet, you will be VERY happy. If you got the stage 3, I think they would not work out very well on the street. Dont worry, the stage 2s will be fine

cams
Hi kinda a double post going here, I also have JDM/Crower stage 2 cams in my 01L the idle is about like the old Pontiac Ram Air 400 maby a little less than the old "3/4" cams of years past. The Crowers came with bolts and washers and JDM includes the 2 spacers that slide on the cams before the gears and included a left and right cam gear. NOTE: WARNING there is a LEFT and a RIGHT cam and LEFT and RIGHT cam sprockets they MUST go togather or lots of bent valves will result. also you will need to have your idle raised slightly eather with chip programing or power programer otherwise you may have a stalling problem in gear when using a stock converter. the stage 2 cams do work good with the stock converter thr stage 3's wound need a stall to give good driveability and might require a vaccume tank for the power brakes. the springs and valve seals can be changed IN the truck (eaiser through the wheel wells) by using the ford type or other type under cam spring compressor and using compressed air to hold the valves closed through the spark plug hole if anyone wants to do there truck you can E-Mail me for further detail
