Question Lightning in SNOW?

Hi guys,

I have a couple questions. I currently own a 94 F150 4x4 SuperCab. I am getting tired of driving it to work everyday and was looking at a 2000 Lightning. The problem I have is that I actually use the 4x4 function once in a while. I like to go skiing and sometimes the roads are bad enough that I have to put it in 4x4. I love the way the lighning feels on clean roads and I would make my drive to work a lot more fun, but can you guys tell me how this truck will do on the mountain in a little snow? Thanks a lot!!!

BTW...here's the info on the Lighning I'm looking at:
2000 model
35000 miles
superchip
shift kit
K&N filter and new mass airflow sensor
new exhaust (can't remember brand)
retrax hard cover
Line-X
window tint
amp under passanger seat and 2 10" subs behind seats

He wants 23,000 but I think I can talk him down a couple grand at least. He claims the mods add 50 hp for a total of 410 hp. What do you guys think? Is this a good price? But more importantly, how bad is it gonna be in snow/ice?

Thanks a lot in advance for any help you guys can provide!!!

As far as the mods. No way 50 h.p. out of chip, K&N, MAF and cat-back. Maybe 20.

As far as snow. Not on OEM F1s. you wouldn't get 20 ft. on a mountain. You would need weight in the back and snow tires at the least to get around.

Hope this helps.

Get some All-Terrains

Whatever you can save off of asking price, put 1200.00 towards some Enkei RT-6 wheels and Nitto Terra Grappler All Terrain tires from Discount Tire. The truck feels like a 4x4 if you add some ballast in the bed. Wheel and tire combo is a perfect fit!!! I install them at Thanksgiving and swap back to street rims in April.
