These two pics concern me a little. How am I supposed to clean all of this out? Just wipe it up? Or what? Is this anything to worry about?

How many miles on your L?

Mine looked a million times worse, but my intake runners were as bad as yours?

From: Colorado,
I replaced the intercooler in my 99 at 21K miles and it looks a whole lot worse.

Plus there were flakes of teflon from the rotors. Don't forget to check that.

I would say yours looks pretty good. Just clean it up with some carb cleaner and rags in the plenum and soak it out of the intercooler and your good to go.

Preventive maint. is always a good thing and it gives you peace of mind.

Good Job!

I am gonna most likely change my plugs out. Dont really want to pay for another set of Densos, so I have been looking into NGKs. What do you guys recommend for daily drivers?

I have about 30K on the odometer, but the IC got replaced about 20K or so ago. So 20K on this IC.

Amazingly my IC looked extreamly dirty when I pulled the blower.

But when I pulled the IC the bottom of my lower intake had zero oil in it nor was there any film on the walls as was the case in yours. ???

Go figure....

I pulled mine out when I pulled the motor out at 26,000 miles. It wasn't that bad I think. Here's a pic of before and after I cleaned it.

when my black 99 was pulled for the leak it had teflon and oil..made a damn nice grease paste. Plugged up almost half the top of the CAC. No pictures though. Ford did replace the motor with a new crate engine.
