Tax returns
Tax returns
Aite, I think im actually gonna file for my tax return a bit early this year, I need money. Some of us are expecting bigger returns than others. Some might have to pay. But I myself am expecting just a few hundred dollars. Im quite stock now. Just have K&n, system, and shackles on my '03. Im gonna have enough to pick either a predator or a pulley. Im broke. What do yallz suggest. Im leaning heavily towards the predator, cuz it would be a safer route IMO. I can add the pulley anytime after that. Key quiestion...should I feel a good difference with a predator and filter only? Opinions and experiences please. What do yall plan on doin with ur money?

built motor, ported heads
If your low on funds, keep your motor stock and your warranty intact.....until you can afford to fix any problems.
Just my opinion, and you know what opinions are like

Johnny,
Gators Right, after this Eaton Porting Mod I'm currently doing,
I'm gonna close one eye and take cover everytime I WOT mine while Spraying............
Can't expect them to stay together forever once Modded.
But of course your basically stock so it's differant.
Anyone and everyone will tell you Filter Chip n Pulley is
the way to go (chip = Predator too of course)
But you will be giving up the wrrnty ?
Predator and an Upper Pulley set up would be safest and give
you a nice increase in Power.
Reversible and possibly undetectable from Ford if need be too.

since you can't do chip& pulley at the same time, and your sure your going modding, I think you'd be better off with just chip, as you said, You can have it reburned as you go to match your future mods. also imo, a good chip should give your truck more kick than a pulley w/out chip, and be safer than a pulley w/out chip.
so I think your on the right track.
Tax returns = pay off some of last years mods (Darn credit cards)

Taking a fed income tax class right now.
Arn't Tax returns worse than having no tax returned back? The money you get back has basically been on loan to the government at a zero % rate. You are loosing the time value of money. Could have invested the $300 in something and got a little more for your money. But then again if it were a "company" truck, you can fully depreciate up to $100k as long as you make a profit.

Go with the Predator. You will get a noticeable increase, and if warranty work is needed just switch back to stock program. They will notice if you change your upper pulley (one of the first things they look for as well as the PCM to see if the wax has been scraped off). Then when you add mods later, you can have the vendor of choice email the new tune to you. I know mine works great.
