Coolant level?....Is this normal?...

I went to look at my truck in the shop today and realized that the coolant level is low. There's a marker that indicates "cold"...I'm assuming this is the level it's supposed to be at when cold, but my fluid level is at the lowest level of the range on the gauge printed on the coolant box when cold. Is this normal?

As long as you are within the marked range of acceptable level you should be o.k. Keep an eye on it at the hot level, too. It won't hurt to add some distilled water or coolant to top her off a tad.

If you haven't noticed any leaks, or you don't smell coolant in the exhaust you should be o.k.

Your assumption is correct.
