Actually the solid lifters Herb speaks of have been redesigned again and seem to be holding lash adjustments Okay....so far.
They are starting to show up on mustangs.

I know of at least 2 lightnings on the west coast that have the Second Street Speed rocker system.....mine and a guy in Cali.

They are a super high quality piece but they are sure not for everybody. The only down sides I've found so far is that the pivot point at the adjuster side has changed and in doing so, it has cost some valve lift. When I degreed the cams the lift came in at about .508 at the valve and the cam card said .545. Part of the lift is lost from the lash adjustment and part of it is from the ratio change.

I run a lot of spring pressure and the rockers so far have proven to be very rigid. There was no difference in lift between a soft set up spring a the the heavy springs.

Regarding the lost valve lift....this bothers me somewhat...it bothers me enough that I may end up with a set of Crowers after all. The difference between .500 lift and .600 lift on my cylinder heads is over 20 cfm flow.

People said that 26 psi would kill my engine and it didn't. I ran all last year(over 20K miles) with over 20 psi and my motor and tranny are fine. Most likely will be over driving the supercharger and bleeding off boost down low using a boost controller. I'll have to work that out. There is a local guy doing that with his 4 valve 4.6 and a procharger D1SC.
