JL got an email that appeared to come from me with a zip file attached. I didn't send it but it looked like I did. Go figure.

Update your virus definitions now, don't take any chances.

No joke! I got an e-mail from myself with an attached "body.zip" file.

Definately watch out.

A good free Anti Virus program:
http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_index.php

And another reason to get rid of Outlook and go with a real email client

Got this from our IT help desk this morning...

A virus alert announcement has been issued by anti-virus organizations this morning regarding a virus named W32/Mydoom@MM.

This is described as a "mass-mailing/worm" virus that is variable in subject and attachment names.

If you receive any unknown or suspicious emails, please delete the message and do not open the message or attachment.

Thank you,
IT Help Desk

Ok there are obviously a lot of computer guys in this thread.

Now this question from a computer "beginner"...

Why start a virus, who does it benifit , what's the whole purpose?

I mean is it just like a prank or something?
