Video Camera mount for my Lightning (Pic)

So I was at the auto parts store and I see a Removable fender mount truck mirror. Right away I think to myself this will be perfect for a Video Camera mount with a few minor adjustments.

I don’t think I want my Digital camera mounted to it because of rocks cracking the lens or whatever. So a friend suggested a wireless web cam hooked to a laptop in the truck along with the microphone in the truck as well. Should make for some kick *** footage.. following bikes and cars as well as race footage

Try to make your first vid a SRT-10 kill. That would be great.

if your out to do kills, you might as well just point the camera backwards, no worry for rocks then too.

Looks like scratches or a tweaked fender ready to happen with that bracket. I would be very careful with that and maybe look to get some sort of padding between it and the fender.

I would cut some rubber gasket material and put it between the fender and bracket............then go out and look for something that tastes like chicken

How cool is this

Only when a man KNOWS his machine will take the competition,
will he mount a Camera on the outside of his vehicle,
so he could share the victory of winning with his buddies

Its hard to see in the pictures but there is no metal touching the truck. The 3 points that touch the truck are rubber coated. Trust me I would never risk scratching the L

Ya the Camara will be pointing backwards most of the time anyway

It is the middle of winter here so I am going to perfect the mount and by this summer I will start posting some wicked videos.

That's a promise

Also-
X10 (and many other manufacturers) make remote pan&Tilt units for small cameras... Not too expensive, IIRC.

I would advise buying a 70$ webcam, that does 30+FPS at 640x480+ resolution. you might want to fabricate a plexiglass protection system for the webcam also.
