Great post..........when I first say the thread title I thought it was going to say.......

"So we take off from a light and instantly I put 12 bus lengths on him. We take it up to 140 or so and I am like a football field in front of him"

Thanks for being honest/realistic.

It happened about like what 9seconds said, even though thats pretty much what i said. I never said we lined up and raced, which im sure is how the dodge guys are taking it. I said he took off in front of me and i followed, and thats exactly how it happened. Whether or not he only went through a few gears or didnt give it his all i dont know; i couldnt hear his over the whine of my blower. I suspect he did have it at wot considering his 13.5 matches mine and he didnt pull on me at all. Either way i loved his truck and he seemed like a good guy . . . if only i could have the rest of his cars . The only difference is i never saw the smile and hand gesture before he took off. I remember the smile and hand gesture after i pulled back up beside him; he was already ahead of me when he took off.

I thought the same thing Joe. I give the dodge truck great credit for hanging with the Lightning. And the Lightning credit hanging with the 500hp Viper motor. Im not going to make any excuses for either truck, I'll just leave it at what happened. It's so nice to read a thread about something happening verse the ford and dodge guys going back and forth talking. I hate that. Less talking, more racing. I hope to see one around here. I dont see many Vipers. At the track in the springtime, there should be at least 1. I've got my name on it.

I believe 9 seconds refers to his Vipers 1/4mile time.

It wasn't a race . . . he took off then, then I took off . . . in the same lane, he was just ahead of me already. It was just to see him run and how a basically stock L compares to it.

There was a red one at the local dealer that sold recently to a local guy. Since I always have a video cam in my truck there is a slim chance I may meet up with that fellow and show him some taillights.
