Talking Got the new Accufab TB, and JLP lowering shackles

Hey gang, with a huge amount of help from "speeder" (actually he worked and I helped) I got my new Accufab TB on, 170* t-stat, and JLP 4" lowering shackles installed. We tried the 3" position first, but it was still more than an inch higher than the front. The 4" position looks great. Now I have some really nasty vibration from about 20 to 35 MPH, so I'm going to have to shim to get the pinion angle correct. Next Sunday is going to be the plugs, 4# lower pulley and the custom Predator tune. Can't wait. If you want to see some before, during and after shots check out my gallaries. I'm including pics of the lowering.

Looks good man.

Now you need to lower the whole truck and make it look even better.

To bad no one is helping me out on the kit I got.

Don't know how my ride quality is going to be yet. Too much stinking vibration to tell. It seems really nice once I'm past like 37 MPH. I wanted to do what you did, but couldn't find the springs.

Way to go Mart Man
WOW, didn't know you had to change the pinion angle with the 4" drop, easy enough fix, no biggy.

Looks MUCH BETTER

Mart Man...
Just in case you don't know, you need to shim AND have an alignment done. Also, to get a decent alignment you will undoubtedly need to buy "cam bolts" (your L did not get them at the factory 8-( ) You can buy these at say NAPA or just get them from Ford. I believe Ford part # for them is F65Z-3B236-BB . Recommend going fairly easy throttle wise, etc. until you do so.

I hope you read the predator threads.

if I remember correctly you should get a tune from one of the big vendors FIRST. then make adjustments with your predator.

Goodluck, and I hope you like the TB whistle, (may need fast air or something to notice?)

Yes definitely get an alingment and the shims flipped. It worked for me. My alingment guy told me that I did not need cam bolts. He may be wrong but last night I rotated my tires and at 11500 miles or about 9500 since the alingment, the tread wear was very good and even I might add. What ever he did worked.

He did say that it was out a fair bit from the factory. Good luck.

Actually I did, but thanks for the heads up. I had JLP load a custom tune into the Predator for my exact mods prior to shipping. Can't wait to see how the L's going to run when everythings done.

They're Boyd Coddington Smoothie II's in 18 x 9" with 5 1/2" backspacing. Tires are stock F1's.

Are you sure about this / From what I understand you have to attach the Predator to your vehicle, get your stock vehicle tune into the Predator... then you hook the Predator up to a laptop or home computer and with that computer get a copy of that stock tune off of the Predator... then via a diskette or via email you send that vehicles stock tune to a tuner and he is then able to make you a custom tune. You may have misunderstood!

Unless there is a way the tuner can take the vin# you give him and preload a custom tune.... BUT I have heard from multiple sources this is not possible. Hmmmm, will be curious to find out. ?#$%^??? Well Diablo Sport authorized Predator vendors?

Thanks for the heads up. I may have misunderstood. The new years special that JDM ran said Predator with custom tune, pulley, and plugs. I was under the impression that the tune came with the Predator. Sue took the info on all my mods when I placed the order. I'll have to check back with her.
