Question tarction bars

ive done the already!

...but im wanting some more opinions. who has what traction bars, and how do you like them? from what ive gatherd, the two big ones are lakewood and caltracs. ive heard that lakewoods are better for street? im going for mostly street driven, with an occasional trip to the track.

im getting the predator and a 4/6# lower, thats why im wanting the bars. opinions and advice are apreciated!

I have the Metco uper style bars on my truck. I have the rear lowered 2" and no problems. They work great and i have all the basic bolt ons. I put them up to 3 rounds last night and tonight I raced a different SS and the truck has never launched so good. It threw me back in the seat and i was gone he didnt have a chance.

Thumbs up Traction????

I have a set of JLP traction bars on my truck with a 2-4 lowering kit and find the work very well both on the street and at the track no noise and no hash ride. My vote goes for JLP

builtfordfast, How did you extend the snubbers on those TT's? Is that a homemade job, or did you buy those?

Knowing what I know now, I'd go with Rancho Style Bars.

I had Hellwig Traction Control Springs,
then moved up to Truck Traks,
and now moved up to JDM 58" Rancho Style Traction Bars

Loved the Truck Traks, 1.6 60ft pretty much every time
But I developed vicious hopping once I started running 12.0's and then 11.81. Never affected the 60ft times, but it's a very uncomfortable Launch and I aint having it NO MORE. In their defense, I'm sure it has something to do with the extra 75HP of Nitrous during Launch, thats a lot of EXTRA Torque + HP to be throwing at it "all at once", on top of the normal HP + Torque
I already have with my Mods.

Plus, it seems all the big boys have Rancho Style 58" Bars
so I FINALLY went that route myself.

Hey Rob,

That picture looks like the bars hit your exhaust. Do they or is it optical illusion?

The bars should not hit the exhaust unless the exhaust hangs, which is a problem in itself. However the next time you go to put the truck on a lift you wont be able to put the arms from the lift where they would normally go. You can fabricate some extensions or just find another spot on the frame to lift.

Traction Bars definatley a good buy!

VTSVT, You can get the extensions 4 the snubbers from Jay at Truck traks. Jay makes them himself. www.truck traks .com

Hit aint the word, there's already a big gage (spelling?) in the bar
from it. (can't see it in the picture, this is the day I put them on)

I guess my tips could go up a little more
(old picture, still had truck traks on it)

OK NO LAUGHING, I know I know

i had to get a muffler shop set me up with some new pipes from my muffler to the tips.

I had 1/8" gap between the rancho bars and pipes.
after I had almost 3"

I had a magnaflow muffler swap only.
