Angry Dyno results

Whats wrong with my truck. Why does my "curve" spike so much. Detonation?

I cant figure out how to make the pic bigger, so here is the link to my album:

https://www.f150online.com/galleries...1895&anum=5380

My first pull was:
341.3 HP
418.3 TQ

Second pull:
302.9 HP
429.6 TQ

This is on a 99 with 4#, CAI, cat back, diablo flip. Does atleast the first pull look close to what I should have got. Probably not right? Too rich?

Why would I lose 39 HP between the two runs and gain 10 lbs. TQ. They were back to back runs, no cool down. Still I have not seen any other post that varied that much.

I do not know if I am understanding the Air Fuel Ratio. I dont know what you consider safe. I was told this is pretty rich. It needs to be leaned out safely and there should be considerable gains from it. (?thats what I was told?) true?

It looks like I am in serious need of tuning. The truck felt so much stonger after the pulley, plug change and reburn. All to find out its running likes crap.

Am I mistaking or are there tuners that can tweak these progams from Diablo. The place I had the Dyno done at is not able to change the tunes. He gets the tune from Diablo and burns straight to the chip. I was under the impression that Tuners on here could change the file.

BTW: A/f's done in the tail pipe after cats. How would that effect the reading. Would after the cats show leaner than it really is?

Wow 302HP And you say it's running fine? No audible noises or feedback?

I'm not an expert but those are way off, a lot of late model L's put down 340rwhp stock.

Also the jaggedness of the curves is more then it should be, your all over the place, to me it looks like you might have a sensor or something going bad? Have you checked your TPS voltage and ran a code scanner on it to see if there is any codes that are set in the computer?

As far as A/F, again I am no expert, but I would try to be around 12:1 max on a street tune, personally I would stay a bit below 12:1 just to make sure.

I would say your tune has to be way off for those numbers to be like that

holy cow....

1. make sure you have no misfires or fuel delivery problems.
2. since you ahve a '99, remove the I/C and clean it
3. Clean the IAC, clean the sensor in the MAF, and Air box.
4. replace the fuel filter.
5. check the plugs, (betcha they are worn down)

your a/f ratio is all screwed up.

it should be around 12.0-12.2 straight across the RPM's when you floor it.
you go from seriously lean to seriously rich......
FIX THAT!

Next,
with your mods, you should be around 400 rwhp.
my 3# on a street program gave me 390rwhp.

contact one of the supporting vendors and get a new tune.
Like YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a phucking disaster!

DO NOT RUN THE TRUCK HARD! I would get that chip reburned from a tuner of your choice and have the truck scanned for codes. Something is off with it.

Like I said it seems to be to have been running fine. No noises.
I just changed the fuel filter and tr6's 500 miles ago(gapped at .036 or .038?)Cant remember off the top of my head.
The I/C may be dirty again but I blew a plug about 3000 miles ago and it was cleaned when the heads got pulled. MAF? I will check it and make sure its not dirty. CAI is clean.
I will also have it scanned and see if there are any codes. No SES light either.

I think its all in a ****ty tune. It was a very (100%) humid low 70's that day. Im going to pull the chip and stay out of boost until its fixed.
What about the rest of my ?'s. Can these chips be burnt more specific then what i have been told. It sure seems to me that they can from what I have learned on this site. I will be contacting a vendor I guess to get a differ tune. Any other insight on the tuning from anyone???

BTW: Shouldnt my A/F's drop down to around 12:1 a lot sooner than they do?

I wouldn't consider your a/f ration safe until 4400-4600 rpms..
that's a lot of R's to be turning that lean.

your af ration should be a flat straight line at about 12.1 across the RPM band....
not a slope like your.

SOMETHING IS WRONG, UNLESS THE DYNO READ IT WRONG/
did you put grease on your tires while you were on the dyno and they were slipping or something

these 2 runs are alittle closer, but I'd still want the a/f a straight line.
I don't have mine scanned so I can't post it, but it's straight

Besides the fact that it looks like Gators heart beat
during little girl sex,

Isn't there a correction factor that needs to be figured in
since it was a Mustang Dyno ? Which would mean he really has
more HP + TQ than we're seeing ???

Either way I agree SOMETHING is wrong.

I thought the same thing Rob. I thought I heard that some where also.
As far as that other dyno sheet, Thats what I have seen most look like. Not all jagged like mine.

FYI. It's a Dyno-jet. I had mine pulled there a few week ago.

New programs are in the works.
