Home Porting the TB ?
Home Porting the TB ?
Is there anyone out there with a home ported TB ?? I'm thinkin of doin it with my friends dremil but I just dont want to mess up. If I do I could over port or weaken the casting on the TB. If anyone has it done, and has good pictures to show the process could you please post the link or pics for me ?? Thanks
Josh

Ive poretd my plenum if thats what you mean.Dont really see where you can port the throtlle body.Maybe just take the dremmel with some sanding flaps and smooth it out a little .Or you can maybee open it up a little if you match the gasket.not sure how much. From what i understand there realy isnt to much to gain in doing it.

Your welcome josh.I purchased the 400$ t.b.lol ,That was before i found f-150 online. But now being that im going for 10s im sure a little more air cant hurt.If your really gonna mod the truck then its probably worth it.Do you got pulleys and chip?
I've ported a bunch of them; nothing really to it other than time. You could over do it(cut through) in a couple of places, but it would take a lot of aluminum removal. I don't see how it would not help; that TB has some nasty steps in it, and cutting the screws off will also help the flow(they stick way into the air flow). If nothing else it will help your throttle response.

ported TB
I ported mine and cut off the nasty peg that sticks out on front like the other guy said it is hard to tell any gain but can't hurt. The single vane will flow more but I feel like the increased responce is in part kind of a false feel due to the fact that it is hard to open one vane slow enough to have a slow increase in RPM so what you get is an instant rush of air into the engine even if you wanted to take off easy. Just my two cents

If anyone is interested in an Accufab, I'm sell mine for $350 + shipping. I also have a 2002 6# PSP lower pulley I'm going to get rid of. I'm selling the L soon also.

Does the single blade come ported? Or just with a single blade??? I've got an SVO single blade and I cant say I got any more throttle responce, but I love how it sounds. Does the single blade come ported?
thanks, Shane

Hey Shane; no much you could do with a singleblade SVO. I have one, and it is more than enough for our trucks.
On my blower; I had already match the intake to the blower once before, but I think I am gonna work on that some more. Since the blower is off I might work to give it a little better flow path on both the upper plumn and blower; there looks be a lot of metal to work with. I can't wait to get some new track times; I don't really have a way to do a bunch of dyno runs so I use track times to tell improvements. I have a decent record of old runs with weather conditions; so we will see.
Best run so far is a 1.75 60ft 7.84 1/8th
Not bad for a 4 pound over truck, predator(very rich tune), electric fan, cold air, full exhaust, and a few other minor things.
