ported LOWER intake pictures

Hi guys, I'm running late for work, so this will be short, but as some of you know I purchased an extra lower intake for my engine buildup. originally I had thought about doing a custom nitrous rail intake, but after talking to sal and the guys at NX, I don't think this will be necessary. so I figured I'd have the thing powdercoated to spruce up or should I say, add some "bling" to my engine compartment.

well, since I'm STILL waiting on the machine shop and have nothing better to do I figured I'd do a little port matching.

now I'm not a professional at this by any means, but I don't think this turned out bad for a first effort. I tried to keep about 1/16th of an inch of gap between the gasket edge and the edge of the runner opening. and when I get my heads, I'll make sure that they are not overlapping.

anyway, gotta run, here are a couple of pics, there are more in my photo gallery.

later,
chris

here's one side partially cut, the other side, untouched:

a rough outline of what area I removed:

so anyway, I don't know if this will help or hurt anything, but it was free and a little fun even!

Have you ever seen the difference between the 99-00 lower intake vs. the 01-04 years? I was thinking about eventually switching mine to an 01 version... TampaBlack did his, the side by side comparison is quite revealing. I wish I had some pics to show you what I mean...

IMO, it should have BEEN done, but the machine shop is taking what seems like FOREVER.

I am now HOPING to have the truck running by late February. (fingers crossed)
