The Apten blower will not give you more boost but it will give you a 30HP gain at the rear wheels. If you are seeing more boost from it is because of the colder weather most of us are seeing during the winter months. My car was making 15 pounds of boost before the apten install since than all i did was add JBA headers and the ported eaton and now i only make 14 pounds at the dyno when i tested it but the car is much stronger now even after loosing that 1 pound of boost!

not that it really matter, boost is an arbitrary number anyway

Back to back dyno testing - before and after results. That's not across the entire RPM range.

My car picked up a true 30HP at the rear tires after the apten install and many 03 Cobras are seeing those same gains as i did with mine and the air-fuel stays the same so no need for a reburn with this mod. This ported eaton makes the eaton blower alittle more efficient and moved my peak torque from 3500rpms to a more useable 4600rpms on my car making 14 pounds of boost.

MaxPower
The area under the curve stayed about the same as before until 4500rpms and that is where this ported eaton really starts making the HP all the way to 6200rpms over the stock eaton.

Sounds like a worth while project for once... I have never planned on switching to a KB or Works..its over kill for my uses. How much did it cost, and how long did it take to get it back?

Matt,

You saw a decrease because of the headers. Jeff saw the same thing in his Lightning....

Assuming the dyno gains with the apten ported lightning blower case are basically the same as the apten ported cobra blower case is this a worth while mod?
For the Lightning isn't more torque down low what is needed? Don't most people have their shift points below 5500 rpms on their trucks? If the area under the curve is the same until 4500 rpms there is only going to be a small area(4500-5500 rpm) where the gain is going to be made.

Opening up the exhaust will drop your boost. The Apten port job is worth a solid 1-2 lbs more boost on the same setup...Not to mention the Eaton is more efficient...

That area is HUGE for power gains...This is mod is a PROVEN fact...at the dyno and track..
