here is a how-to write up for an 8-inch.

Why not just go behind the seats? Good luck with it.

right click the red X, go to properties, and copy the address into your browser.

It's a slick idea, but I wouldn't think that the sub would perform very well in that small of enclosure and the box wouldn't be very rigid, which is very important for a subwoofer enclosure. What kind of sub is that?

try again on the pics...

heres some more pics, if they dont work, ill put a link to them underneath each of them...

i took the white base and cut it in 1/2...

mocked up a cardboard box and sub to fit the pieces...

and built a box to fit...

i fit the boax and it fits in there, eveythings going pretty good so far, im fiberglassing it now, and ive got to get the aft mount back on the box, and attatch the box to the white base...ill post more pics later...

One thing you will have to work hard at, is geting all the rattles out of the console. With a sub in there it's going to vibrate pretty good. I would coat the inside of the console and the outside of the box with dynamat or similar material. Looks good so far.

rattles is one thing im definately worried about. Im going to wrap the box in fiberglass atleast 3 times to try to get it as stable as i can.

and after i get everything put together i was thinking about turning it upside down and spraying in that expanding foam (cant think of name right now), in it untill it overflows, and then triming the excess. i hope that might stop some rattles. dynamat might end up going on the outside of the box before i install it depending on how much room is left on the sides...it was a pretty tight fit already, thats why im hoping the foam works.

I liked the idea of the 8" in the console but wanted something bigger as well. I knew JL Audio made boxes for Ford consoles but they don't have one for the console that's popular for our console mods. Couple questions for your setup...Is there enough space between the sub and the floor so that it's not going to hit the floor? What are the dimensions for that box? Looks a little small to me for a 10". Would be pretty sweet if you ported it and had the port come out the rear air control slot of the console. Good luck...Keep us posted!
